About Hockley

Hockley is a large village in Essex that sits between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea.

Its railway line offers good connections to London, taking around 45 minutes, making it perfect for commuters.  Connections to the A127 and M25 are also good for those commuting elsewhere by car.

The schools are excellent in the Hockley area. The local primary school is rated ‘Outstanding’ and the majority are rated ‘Good’, while the secondary school, Greenswood Academy, is rated 'Good'

Hockley Woods, south-west of the village, is a popular destination for everyone from cyclists to horse riders, walkers to runners. It covers over 130 hectares and is a huge area of wildwood left after the Ice Age thousands of years ago. In spring you can experience stunning wildflower displays, but there’s plenty to do and see all year round.
