About March
With a population of around 20,000, March is a quaint, scenic town in Cambridgeshire with a number of shops and restaurants, and over 30 schools in the surrounding areas.
The historic town was originally an island in the marshy fens which sits on the River Nene, which today is mainly used by pleasure boats. Since the draining of the fens, March has become a thriving market town.
It is 20 miles from Peterborough and is only a 15-minute train journey, making it easily accessible for commuters.
March is a quiet town ideal for young families. There’s a leisure centre, plus two local nature reserves and the ancient church of St Wendreda nearby, although the biggest and best ancient church is, of course, the world-famous cathedral up the road in Ely.
