We know Leigh-on-Sea
Leigh-on-sea is a civil parish in the district of Southend-on-Sea, with a population of over 20,800 people. Leigh is a thriving traditional seaside town that’s full of charm. Some ‘outstanding’ schools make the town extremely sought after by London commuters looking for a family-friendly place to live. It’s less than an hour on the train to London Fenchurch Street, an hour to Stansted Airport and around 30 minutes to the M25.
There are over 15 schools and these have good reputations, with selective grammar schools in nearby Westcliff. Many local primary schools are rated 'good' and Leigh North Street Primary School and West Leigh Junior School are rated 'outstanding'. Westcliff High School for Girls and Westcliff High School for Boys are both 'outstanding' selective secondaries. The area is very family friendly and there is a lot to do as it is on the coast.
Leigh has recently topped a ‘happiest places to live’ survey for its schools, activities, access to London and community spirit. Events like the annual Leigh Regatta, Leigh Folk Festival and the Leigh Art Trail bring new and longstanding locals together to celebrate all that’s great about this lively and charming town.
