We know Biggin Hill
Biggin Hill, a former home to the RAF, has a population of around 6,000, and is part of the London Borough of Bromley.
It boasts two primary schools but while there is only one secondary school in the area there are many others in neighbouring districts. Rail transport to central London is accessible via good bus services to Hayes or Bromley.
In the Second World War Biggin Hill airfield became a Spitfire station and offensive missions flew from here. Today it is the most popular light aviation airfield in southern England and hosts an annual air show. Other places of interest in the area include Down House, the home of Charles Darwin, and the place where he wrote his world-changing book ‘On the origin of species’, and Churchill’s country home, Chartwell.
