About Brentwood

Brentwood used to be named 'Burntwood' and still was as recently as some 18th century maps. In 1917, the Roman Catholic church on Ingrave road was awarded cathedral status before later being updated between 1989-1991.

The area has a population of approximately over 75,000. There are a good range of schools for all ages and good transport links to schools outside of the area. You can get a train from Brentwood Station or use one of the many bus routes available.

The area is home to the Brentwood Theatre and The Hermitage, which is used as a youth centre. The town is surrounded by countryside and green spaces, as well as having two sports centres that offer such activities like badminton, squash and football. There's also a football team and a basketball team that you can go and watch, as well as the only handball team in the whole of Essex.
