Charming 4-Bedroom Semi-Detached Chalet Home in Picturesque Hook End Village – With No Onward Chain

Presenting a beautifully maintained semi-detached chalet-style home, perfectly positioned in the peaceful semi-rural village of Hook End. This spacious four-bedroom property offers a superb blend of countryside tranquillity and excellent connectivity to key local hubs.

Step inside to discover a generous open-plan lounge and dining area, bathed in natural light thanks to large sliding patio doors that open directly onto the 76' x 21' (23m x 6.4m) mature rear garden. A cosy log-burning stove enhances the living space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere all year round. The well-appointed kitchen provides ample storage and workspace, ideal for everyday family life.

The ground floor also houses two bedrooms and a family bathroom, complete with a corner bath and overhead shower. Upstairs, two further double bedrooms await, including a front room with generous eaves storage and a rear bedroom enjoying lovely garden views. A convenient separate WC completes the first floor.

Outside, the good-sized rear garden features a paved patio area, perfect for alfresco dining and entertaining, leading onto a lush lawn framed by mature trees and shrubs. An additional outbuilding offers versatile space for storage or hobbies. To the front, a neat garden and ample off-street parking on your private driveway add to the property’s practical appeal.

Local amenities are just moments away, with Doddinghurst village approximately 2 miles providing a village shop, pub, and well-regarded primary school. For families, nearby schooling options include Doddinghurst Church of England Primary School (1.8 miles), The Mandeville School in Brentwood (3.5 miles), and Shenfield High School (5 miles).

For shopping, dining, and leisure, Brentwood and Shenfield town centres are both roughly 5 miles away, featuring a variety of High Street retailers, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes. Recreational options include the nearby Thorndon Country Park (3 miles) offering scenic walks and outdoor activities.

Transport links are excellent: Shenfield railway station (just over 5 miles) provides frequent Great Eastern Main Line services to London Liverpool Street and benefits from the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail), delivering fast, direct access to the capital’s financial districts. The A12 is within 3 miles, connecting you to the M25 and wider motorway network, making commuting straightforward.

This property is offered with no onward chain — an ideal opportunity to secure a spacious family home in a sought-after semi-rural location.

About Brentwood

Brentwood used to be named 'Burntwood' and still was as recently as some 18th century maps. In 1917, the Roman Catholic church on Ingrave road was awarded cathedral status before later being updated between 1989-1991.

The area has a population of approximately over 75,000. There are a good range of schools for all ages and good transport links to schools outside of the area. You can get a train from Brentwood Station or use one of the many bus routes available.

The area is home to the Brentwood Theatre and The Hermitage, which is used as a youth centre. The town is surrounded by countryside and green spaces, as well as having two sports centres that offer such activities like badminton, squash and football. There's also a football team and a basketball team that you can go and watch, as well as the only handball team in the whole of Essex.
