**Historical Information**

Additional historical background has been sourced from the Rushden Research page, providing an insight into the property's history and development.

The property features a date stone bearing the year 1696 and the initials C L, believed to represent Charles Livesay, who served as Rector of St Mary's between 1694 and 1702. During the 1870s, John Thomas Barker was rector and subsequently constructed a new rectory house in Back Lane, which later became known as Rectory Road.

The oldest section of the present building dates from 1696 and was photographed in 2009. The porch is a later addition, while the front elevation was remodelled and extended in 1897 by Fred Knight, who also constructed his shoe factory behind the property.

Following the construction of a new Rectory in Back Way in 1871, the original property became known as The Old Rectory, with the road subsequently being renamed Rectory Road. The property is now known as Greystones, as recorded in 2009.
