About Colindale
Named after a 16th-century family with the same name, Colindale in North London houses the Royal Air Force Museum.
Colindale is on the Northern line (Edgware branch), is close to the M1, A5, North Circular and A41. The huge retail paradise that is the Brent Cross Shopping Centre is only 7 minutes away by tube too. Add to that a smattering of pretty parks, some ‘Outstanding’-rated schools, and a wealth of restaurants offering food from all four corners of the world, and you have an area that’s set to take off in the months and years to come.
Although officially in the London borough of Barnet, Colindale’s main High Street falls within the borough of Brent and is accessed by its population of 17,000.
Colindale has links to the M1 and its own tube station on the Northern line. A small brook – Silk Stream – runs through the area from north to south.
The Royal Air Force Museum in Colindale is a must-visit for all lovers of military aircraft. The museum is on the site of the former Hendon Aerodrome and has recently enjoyed a revamp as part of the RAF centenary in 2018. There are well over 100 aircraft displayed in hangars including a Bomber Hall and a Battle of Britain Hall.
