Barkingside’s heritage is headlined with the founding of Barnardo’s Children’s Charity in the Victoria era. Barkingside boasts one of the most attractive looking tube stations, which serves on the Central Line.

Barkingside is situated within the London Borough of Redbridge.
Fairlop Outdoor Centre offers a range of fun activities for the whole family, such as sailing and various water sports. Barkingside itself offers various amenities for locals, including restaurants, banks, pubs, supermarkets and a bakery. Also nearby is Redbridge Cycle Centre, a road cycle circuit and mountain bike course.
Barkingside has its own tube station, which serves on the central line, offering access to major London hubs like Liverpool Street, Bank and Bond Street. Barkingside is also close to the A12, a major road which connects eastwards through Essex into Suffolk and also westwards into London Stratford.
Sports and leisure facilities
Barkingside’s main centre for leisure is Fullwell Cross Leisure Centre, which offers a swimming pool, gym, fitness classes and a spa. Water enthusiasts may find Fairlop Outdoor Centre of interest, which as a sailing and various water sports.

We love the Indian and Turkish cuisine in the area; Caraway Indian restaurant in particular is one of our favourites.
