As part of the Brixton Pound initiative, which began in 2009, the first cash machine supporting this Brixton-based currency is now open for use at Market Row.

You’ll find it at Market Row in Brixton and have access to paper versions of the local currency from 8am – 11pm between Tuesday and Sunday and from 8am – 6pm on Mondays.

It is the world’s first local currency cash machine and is introduced to boost the Brixton Pound’s mission: to experience what a social economy could look like in Brixton.

The cash machine is funded by The Mayor’s High Street Fund and is one of many initiatives created under this fund to boost local businesses in the Brixton Town Centre.
