Walking through the exquisite gardens that are reputed to have been designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown, Emilia Grant and her parents relish the magnificent tranquillity of their impressive home. Set by the River Cray, the beautiful early Georgian home, thought to have been built by a Lord Mayor of London, has been the scene of numerous celebrated gatherings over the years and has played host to some of Britain's best-known names. "Koo Stark once filmed an advert here and Sir Ted Heath used to visit a great deal," said Emilia. "We once remarked to him how much we wished we had a mulberry tree for the grounds here but couldn't find one. "The next time he came he brought one with him and it is still growing out in the gardens today." Overflowing with ornate period features, the grand house, which also has a swimming pool, was once used as a venue for weddings as well as a private home. "This is such a lovely place to live. We sit outside by the river and watch the birds, and it really is quite wonderful," she added.
