About Ilkeston

Ilkeston is part of the borough of Derbyshire and is within close proximity to Derby and Nottingham. 

Ilkeston is steeped in heritage with coal mining, ironworks and lace-making popular in the town, which was founded in the 6th Century.  Queen Victoria is also known to have named Ilkeston a Borough in 1887.
